There is a tradition within the church which considers tears to be a gift of God, and the shedding of tears an expression of some of our deepest affections for God--repentance, longing, joy, love. When something (or someone) touches our lives, deeply enough to cause us to cry, we know that more than our mind is engaged in the relationship. In some ways, we have given over our hearts.

The Holy Spirit was using the apostles to teach the Word. As they did, the believers devoted themselves to the Word. The also devoted themselves to the breaking of bread and prayers. I was intrigued by the idea that they devoted themselves to the fellowship.
